About
My name is Betty and I have been embarking on my RETIREMENT life for over five years now! I’m not really old enough for retirement, am I? What am I going to do now that I am retired? The possibilites are endless, and there is sure to be days filled with excitement as well as days that are just regular, ordinary days.
My husband has FINALLY joined me in this phase of life called retirement. He retired July 28, 2018. We have been planning for this day for several years. We purchased a 40 foot RV several months before his retirement date, and were planning to “hit the road” and see all of this beautiful country. We spent the month of August selling nearly everything we owned (house, furniture, appliances, home decor, tools, etc.); if it didn’t fit in the RV, it was sold! We left the small Missouri town we had lived in for 27+ years on September 1, 2018, and started our new journey.
My husband and I have been married for 42 years, and we have two grown sons. The oldest is a meteorologist and the youngest is in the Navy. We also have three wonderful grandchildren that we see as much as possible.
During my 31 year teaching career I taught Music (K-6th gr.), 1st grade classroom, 5th grade classroom, and 7th grade English. I am fortunate to have been blessed with the opportunity to teach in some wonderful schools.
As you can see, I am not only a teacher, but also a wife, mother and grandmother (as well as a BIG St. Louis Cardinal fan!). I have a strong faith in God and can see how He has worked in my life over the years. I know that He still has a purpose for me, and I will discover that purpose as I seek His will during my journey down this road called “retirement.”
