RV Ramblings:  First Stop – Family Time

After leaving Dexter on September 1st, we traveled north to Arnold, MO, for some much needed time with my family.  We will be staying here for a couple of weeks before moving on to our next destination.

We are staying in an older RV/Mobile home park called Belleville RV & Mobile Home Park which is actually in Fenton.  It is only about 10 minutes (or less) from mom and dad.  Even though it’s older, it is quiet, secluded, and clean.  It’s off of Hwy. 141, however, if you didn’t know it was there, you would probably miss it.

I have no idea how long this RV park has been here, however, I noticed something very interesting after we pulled in and while we were hooking up all our RV stuff.  Take a look at THIS picture:

Yep!  That would be where you plug in your old landline telephone!  I would think it has been deactivated for some time now.  I guess back in the “old days,” RVs came with landline phones and you needed an RV park that had telephone lines to plug into in order to use your phone.  MY!  How times have changed!!

My sister, Peggy, and her husband, Ed, who live in Indiana, had already been in STL for a few days visiting mom and dad when we arrived.  We got here in time to eat supper with them and dad at a local Mexican restaurant to celebrate their 43rd anniversary.  Peg and Ed left Saturday morning and my other sister, Lisa, and her husband, Rob (who live just up the street from my parents’ home), got in late Saturday night from a vacation week trip to Cancun.

We had a relaxing Sunday and Labor Day Monday.  On Tuesday morning Jack needed to make a trip to see his mom in Springfield, MO.  I stayed here while he went to Springfield.  Jack, his brother, and brother-in-law made a trip to Thayer, MO, on Wednesday to check on the family farm and farm house that they still own.  There were some “issues” with the house.  After working most of the day, they think they took care of everything and headed back to Springfield.

Jack’s mom really enjoys playing Skip Bo, and she usually wins.  She particularly LOVES it when she can beat Jack!  Jack sent me a text that said, “How in the heck am I supposed to win?!” accompanied with this picture:

That is A LOT of wild cards!  Needless to say, Jack’s mom, Lill, won big that night.  However, Jack got his “revenge” on his last night there and beat her several times.

Jack left Tuesday and wasn’t coming home until Friday.  I was staying in the RV with our dog, Zoey, and everything was fine.  That is until I noticed that the gray water needed dumping!  I had been shown WHAT to do, but I had never done it before…..much less do it unsupervised and while I was ALONE!  I stood outside peering into this compartment and thought, “I can do this.”  After a couple of minutes I texted this picture to my husband with the message “HELPPPPPPP!”

He gave me some very thorough instructions, and I am happy to report that I dumped all the gray water and didn’t even have problem!  😁 Fortunately the black water/waste was no where near full, so I will most definitely leave that one for the hubby to take care of!

We will be here until this coming Friday morning.  Then we head out to ……… well, you will just have to wait and see!

Thanks for stopping by this blog.  I hope you have a blessed day!
