Sioux Falls, South Dakota

The day after we went to De Smet (see previous post), we woke up to SUNSHINE! After experiencing SO much rain this spring, seeing the sun in the sky was truly a blessing. After checking our weather app and seeing the high was going to be in low 70s, we decided we MUST get out of the RV and do something outside.

We decided a visit to the city of Sioux Falls would be just what we needed. It was only about 35 miles east of our RV park, there are some falls in town that we wanted to see, and a “city” meant an opportunity to shop some. 😃

The history of the city of Sioux Falls revolves around the cascades of the Big Sioux River. The lure of the falls have been instrumental in its history and development.

I googled “falls in Sioux Falls” and the name Falls Park in Sioux Falls was first on the list. I read about the park, the overlook cafe located there, the lookout tower, and that it was dog friendly. I clicked on Directions, we loaded up our dog, Zoey, some snacks, and off we went.

I don’t know which was more gorgeous: the wonderful sunshine and perfect temperatures or the cascading water down several falls!

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. I even got to do a little shopping!

So, for now ….. “On the Road Again!”

You got to see the “falls” in their overflow stage because of the recent rain. We have been there many times and will be there again this summer. Sally’s brother lives there.
