Family Time = PRICELESS!

Just a quick update on the last few weeks:

We have been in Missouri for a little over three weeks.  WOW!  Three weeks?!  TIME SLOW DOWN!

Our first week in Missouri we were in Springfield visiting my husband’s family. We visited with Jack’s mom numerous times.  If you know Jack’s mom, the visits alway include eating out at Cedars followed by playing multiple Skip Bo games which she wins at least 90% of the time.

We spent one afternoon visiting Jack’s sister and brother-in-law.  They were keeping their newest great-granddaughter that day, and, trust me, she is a little DOLL!  Too bad I didn’t think to take some pics of her because you would have fallen in love with her just like we did.  We would have gotten together with Jack’s brother, however, he was down for the count with some lower back pain.  We all know what that is like – MISERABLE!  Jack went over to his house to visit, and we are all hoping he gets better soon.

After a week in Springfield, we headed up Interstate 44 to the St. Louis area to spend time with my family.  We are staying in Belleville Mobile Home and RV Estates again where we stayed last fall.  We are spending time with my parents, sister and her husband, and, if I’m lucky, we will also get to spend some time with my niece and nephew before we leave the area.

Look what I found at the grocery store the other day!  I canNOT believe they make frozen “ice cream” treats for dogs!  And, they are in the freezer section of the grocery store right NEXT to the frozen ice cream treats for PEOPLE!  And, NO!  I did not buy our dog any of these treats!  😝 😆 😂

Since this weekend is Memorial Day, I’d like to ask you and your family to take a moment to remember those American heroes who volunteered to serve in our military and gave the ultimate sacrifice of their life for our freedom.  Also, please remember their families who, I am sure, are missing their loved one this weekend.  May you and your family have a wonderful celebration this Memorial Day!

We will be leaving the STL area around the middle of June, so check back shortly after that to see where we are going.  I’ll give you a hint:   ………..   NORTH where it is cooler!!

So for now ….. “On the Road Again” ….. well, we will be on the road again soon!

Weekly Photo Challenge: In the Background

This week’s The Daily Post – Weekly Photo Challenge is:  In a new post created for this challenge, share a picture that says In the Background.  Click here to see the challenge.  Here’s my take on the theme.

As we were decorating our yard for Memorial Day, I noticed my yellow flower thing-ys  had begun blooming (does anyone know the name of these plants?).  I decided to snap some photos.  After I took the first one or two pictures, I remembered this week’s Photo Challenge and decided to see just what I could “catch” in the background of my frame.  I took these with my iPhone5 camera.  I wish now I would have used my good Sony.  Oh, well, hind-sight is always 20/20!

In The Background: One of the flags we put out around the house.

The intent of this shot was to get the flag with the roses. In The Background: Three more of the flags down the sidewalk.

And I just cannot resist posting this next picture.  In the background is my front door with my Flip Flop Wreath!  (Click on the name of the post to see previous posts:  Flip Flop Frenzy – Part 2 and Flip Flop Frenzy).
