Flag Day – or – How I Grew Up With Old Glory

Today was Flag Day….a day that has special meaning to me for various reasons. I read this post over at “The Retiring Sort” a couple of days ago and wanted to share it with you. She expresses my feelings about our flag, its symbolism, and what it stands for (as well as the flags of other countries) better than I ever could have. Please take a few moments to read her post and reflect on our flag and what it means to you. Happy Flag Day to all!

Two weeks ago, I was driving in the car with my seven year old grandson. He was happily singing songs from a disk of children’s songs he loves, and broke into the chorus of You’re a Grand Old Flag. I joined in, and he giggled.
